Disability Somerset - the region's biggest independent living exhibition - is almost here and is a must-see event for disabled and older people, carers and professionals.

Disability Somerset will be officially opened by one of the county’s very own Paralympic stars Deb Criddle.
The talented dressage rider, who lives in Trull, has kindly agreed to take time out of her preparations for London 2012 to cut the ribbon, just before 10am.
Deb, who lost the use of her right arm in a motorcycle accident in 1985, won an incredible THREE gold medals at the Athens Games in 2004, and also competed at Sydney 200 and Beijing 2008. Deb has qualified for London 2012 as an individual rider, but is currently vying for selection for the team event .
And BBC Somerset are also expected to provide radio coverage from the event, including interviews with exhibitors and visitors.
Michelle Edwards, Compass Disability Services’ Operations Manager, said: “Disability Somerset will cover the entire spectrum of disability.
“We’ve got a fantastic variety of exhibitors lined up, as well as demonstrations and workshops for health and social care professionals.
“I would urge any disabled and older people to come along and view the wide range of equipment, information and services that are available.
“And, in the year of the London 2012, it’s a huge honour that Deb Criddle – one of Somerset’s very own Paralympic stars – has agreed to come and cut the ribbon.”
