Eat healthy:
Carrots, Spinach, Papaya & Mango are all rich in beta carotene and are great to maintaining healthy eyes.
Stop rubbing your eyes:
Broken blood vessels are one of the main causes of dark circles. Rubbing your eyes causes the breakage of weakened blood vessels, if your eyes are irritated try blinking instead.
Elevation during sleep:
This one is a top tip for puffy eyes, sleeping slightly propped up can help drain fluid from your head especially the fluids that rest in the eye area causing puffy eyes. A great product for this is our bed wedge. Its gentle angle means no more puffy eyes as well as helping reduce other problems such as acid reflux, hiatus hernia and respiratory problems. It’s also great for watching tv / using your tablet / mobile device in bed.
Rest:
Obviously this is one of the most important factors. Without regular good night’s sleep the face will show more pronounced signs of ageing.
Sunglasses:
Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV rays especially at peak daytime hours. (Maybe not such a great tip at this time of year but keep it in mind for when the sun comes back!) Protecting your eyes will help prevent fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet as well as stopping skin darkening under the eyes.
Great Concealer:
This one doesn’t stop you getting them but helps you hide them. It’s important to find a concealer for under your eyes that’s one or two shades lighter than your natural skin colour. Apply using your ring finger for a smoother finish.
